1. Who we are
MyLocalCV ("we", "us") is a CV-writing service registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 70712387, VAT number NL002184702B43. You can reach us at info@mylocalcv.com. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
2. What data we collect
We only collect data that you give us directly or that is technically necessary:
- Order form: your name, e-mail address, target country, chosen design, package and extras, and any message you add.
- Intake form (after ordering): your work history, education, skills and career goals — the content of your CV.
- Free guide signup: your e-mail address.
- Payment data: processed entirely by our payment provider Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; we only receive a payment confirmation.
- Correspondence: e-mails you send us about your order or revisions.
3. What we use it for
- Writing, delivering and revising your CV and related documents;
- Processing your payment and meeting our legal (tax) obligations;
- Sending you the free guide you requested;
- Answering your questions and handling the money-back guarantee.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
We process your data on the basis of: performance of a contract (delivering your CV), legal obligation (tax records), consent (free guide e-mails — you can withdraw anytime), and legitimate interest (answering your messages and improving our service).
5. Third parties that process data for us
- Stripe (payments) — Stripe Inc., processes payments under its own privacy policy and EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- Formspree (order & guide forms) — forwards your form submission to our e-mail.
- Netlify (website hosting) — serves this website; standard server logs only.
6. Cookies & tracking
This website uses no tracking cookies, no analytics and no advertising pixels. Only technically necessary storage may be used by your browser to display the site.
7. How long we keep your data
- CV and intake data: up to 12 months after delivery, so we can handle revisions and your 12-month update guarantee. After that it is deleted. Want it gone sooner? Just ask.
- Invoice and payment records: 7 years, as required by Dutch tax law.
- Free guide e-mails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address.
8. How we protect your data
Your documents contain personal career information — we treat them accordingly. Access is limited to the person(s) working on your order, transmissions run over HTTPS, and payments are handled by PCI-DSS compliant Stripe.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to: access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. E-mail us at info@mylocalcv.com and we will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will publish the new version on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
